The other night Shanghai’s No. 1 Fag Hag was sitting around with some friends trying to list all the gay/lesbian bars in town. We named 14 and at the same time came to the conclusion that Shanghai is in desperate need off a pub crawl.
The invitation is open to all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, drag queens, fag/stag hags, LGBT friendly straight residents and anyone else who wants to join. The plan is to figure out how many people want to participate and rent a bus or van to hit as many pubs below as possible. We’re aiming for the first weekend of November, after we’ve all had a chance to recover from the big Shanghaiist Halloween bash.

I'll be booking the vehicle early next week so please let me know right away!
Once we know how many people are joining, I'll let everyone know the cost for the bus rental (hopefully will be less than 100rmb per person for the whole night). The drinks at every bar will be the responsiblity of each person.

Is #8 by any chance Mollis Bar, that infamous teenie bopper hangout on the Huangpu just east of the Bund? Home of on- and offline hookups and and blaring pop on tinny speakers, it's also known as 浮生 or "Floating Life." Back in '04, your narrator spent one of the strangest Christmas Eves of his life there. Definitely belongs on the pub crawl schedule!

Update- so far we have about 25 people who will be joining. One person is even flying in for the big event!
More bar discounts....Shanghai Studio has graciously offered us 25rmb drinks when we stop by!

UPDATE:
The LBGT bus is full! Actually, we are turning people away.... or at least telling them they'll need to take a taxi to follow us around. That's 47 people!
FYI- to speed up the process at each bar, we will be phoning in our order for simple drinks like beer, wine, barcardi, etc from the bus. Those who would like cocktails will order from the bar when we arrive (and risk pounding the drink to get back on the bus in time for the next bar)!
Should be a great time and look for the man who's flying in from Shandong province to join in the festivities!
