The cool T-shirt market in Shanghai is heating up! Shanghaiist attended the launch party of the city’s newest (only?) “expressive culture brand” last Saturday — ENO
, at 139-23 Changle Lu near Chengdu Lu. If you are not in the market for gear — they have other stuff in addition to T-shirts
, like original shoes and Kill Bill track suits
— you at least have to check out the place’s rotating conveyor belts of merch. Each ENO design only gets made 50 times, and, for its launch, the store teamed with artists from throughout China to design a batch of T-shirts, proceeds from which go to the Shanghai No. 4 School of the Deaf to help them create an art program. They are also hooking up with Da>Space
and The Lab
, so even if you can’t afford the products, the vibe at the
“experiential retail space
” should be cool (they have a juice bar, too).
The strip of Changle Lu just west of the gao jia
is fast becoming one of the more interesting strolls in town. Check it out.ENO, 139-23 Changle Lu near Chengdu Lu. Tel: 63860120.
