I love it. So if I buy a normal one will it be confiscated at Charles de Gaulle airport. Ingenious marketing.

My friend who specializes in Chinese law figured it out.

Louis Vuitton is massively counterfeited in China. Literally millions of Chinese women walk around proudly displaying their fake handbags, and foreigners flock here to purchase their own. This is in fact an absolutely ingenious attempt to undermine the counterfeiters. How many middle / upper class Chinese women would be caught dead carrying around what is essentially a symbol of the lower class? And if there is no domestic demand, then likely the factories will not bother producing the design for the much smaller foreigner market. Actually, it will be interesting to see if these bags are faked. In any case it is a truly brilliant attempt to side step the counterfeiters.

What a great post. This is so funny. I just wonder if LV didn't copy the look from the peasants?

It's cool because it's so lowly. I wonder if the LV line comes in wallets. My 19 year old son would really like one.
