Live-blogging the HSBC Champions golf tourney

If you attended the first round of the HSBC Champions Golf Tournament today out at Sheshan International Golf Club, you are likely stuck in traffic trying to get back into the city. If you didn't attend, you may find it interesting to know that someone associated with the tournament is live-blogging the whole thing (from the media center). And we're not just talking making a few posts each day, this is minute-to-minute stuff. Here's a segment of today's post selected at random:

3.41pm
A birdie on the 18th sees Jyoti Randhawa claim the HSBC Champions lead - seven birdies on his way to 7-under-par 65 seeshim narrowly miss equalling the tournament record.

3.31pm
"I've got a lot of work to do in the next three days" - World No.1 Tiger Woods tells it like it is.

3.21pm
The range is almost full as many of the field head back to the practice ground to refine different aspects of their game.

3.20pm
Yong-eun Yang joins Michael Campbell in the clubhouse after competing a six-under-par 66. It looks like Marc Warren and Jyoti Randhawa are the only ones who could overhaul them for the first round lead.

3.05pm
"Happy and surprised" - Michael Campbell's post-round reaction after carding a 6-under par 66 on his return to tournament action after a three week lay off.

2.43pm
Michael Campbell is the first player into the media centre this afternoon.

2.37pm
A birdie at the 9th, his final hole, sees Michael Campbell make a move up the leaderboard. Jyoti Randhawa also notches abirdie at the 14th to join Campbell and Marc Warren at the top of the leaderboard. Elsewhere, Padraig Harrington signs for a 5-under 67 adn Tiger Woods will start again tomorrow from level par - a far cry from the 7-under par 65 he began with at last year's event. News that Tiger Woods will not be coming into the tournament media centre today sees various members of the world's press scampering towards the 9th green in the hope that they will be able to grab a snippet from him.
