Michigan-Ohio State game on Sunday!

ohiostate111506.jpgAs most American Football fans know, and ESPECIALLY University of Michigan fans (GO BLUE!) there's a huge game this weekend when #1 ranked Ohio State takes on #2 Michigan in Columbus. Back in Americaland, they're calling it the came of the decade. It's. Gonna. Be. AWESOME.

For those football greenhorns out there, it's exceedingly rare for two top ranked teams playing each other during the regular season -- these games are scheduled years in advance, so it's quite a coincidence.

Bubba's in Hongqiao will be showing the game on Sunday afternoon. In Ken's (Bubba's) words:

Rarely do NCAA college football fans get to see a true championship game in November, but that's exactly what's in store for this coming Saturday when #2 Michigan faces off against #1 Ohio State University in a Big 10 showdown. Ohio State is currently favored by 6.5 in Vegas.

We've had rabid fans from both these schools lining up for several weeks, so those looking for a mild Sunday afternoon better book a table upstairs or outside at Bubba's. For those coming for the game....two words: come early.

Here's the day's line up:

12 p.m. -- Pre-game Show and College Gameday
2 p.m. -- #2 Michigan @ #1 OSU
6 p.m. -- #17 California @ #4 USC

In a cruel twist of fate, Shanghaiist will be in Beijing at this time. Despite casting our net far and wide, we can't find another showing. We don't want to discriminate -- are there other places in Shanghai or Beijing that is showing the game? Is anyone showing it live?

Please? If so, leave a comment!

oh i can hardly wait ... i hope you'll also tell us about every other dumb provincial sporting contest from around the world such as Aussie Rules and Handball and Hockey ... :P

Shanghaiist devotes way too much space on where to watch American football/baseball, where to get a hamburger, where to buy American goods, etc. etc. Is this a city blog about Shanghai, or about how to live a perfect American life in Shanghai? If you want American hamburgers and American football so much, go back to America. Enough already! You're in China -- eat Chinese food, go to Chinese places, buy Chinese things and watch Chinese sports.

Badminton anyone? Or perhaps a rousing match of pingpong on the telly! Wait, no, taking in a game of Chinese chess - now THAT would be exciting. Tokyo - F*^k Off.

Westerners are in China to make money, subvert chinese culture and spy on the CCP and there is nothing you can do about it!
Chinese food is good (most of the time) but BBQ is unbeatable anytime, if you seen one chinese place, you've seen them all (and paid too much for the admissions ticket), no one has any interest in chinese things like pajamas, the "clown pants" that women wear, men's doily socks, anything with the "playboy" logo on it or knock off shoes. And chinese sports are BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRING

thinking abt linking this to facebook and seeing how many angry buckeye fans spam tokyojoe

osu 31 umich 14 BET ON IT

In BJ "Goose & Duck" may be showing it live (if not, just call and ask them to, they probably will).........

Go Blue.

Try Steak and Eggs in Beijing...I'll bet they have it on, and you can get some good breakfast and Red Velvet Cake there (but it's no Bubba's).

Any tips on where you could watch the game around the Pearl River Delta area? Guangzhou? Shenzhen? Hong Kong? Go Bucks!
