Chocolate flavored cheese? Indeed

We were familiar with the Ween album, but not the food ... until we saw an ad for it in the back of a Shanghai taxi. It looked like someone was serving slices of American cheese, covered with a slice of something brown, topped off by a red cherry. We gagged, and then took note of the website mentioned on the ad. Here it is.

And here is the product in question, or at least the closest thing we could find to it. Yep, it's chocolate cheese. Based on the packaging, it goes well with lettuce? The appeal of this product is lost on us. If in the mood for cheese, eat cheese. When craving chocolate, go for chocolate. Combining the two just seems wrong. But, then again, we don't like sugar sprinkled on top of our sliced tomatoes or Sprite mixed with our red wine. So we doubt we were the intended audience for this product.

Before you start telling your friends about "those crazy Chinese and their chocolate cheese," we discovered they have chocolate cheese in Wisconsin, America's Dairyland, too. And Michigan, at least twice. And where does Taiwan turn to satisfy it craving for cocoa Camembert? You guessed it: New Zealand.
