Pimp My Ride, Shanghai style

pimpmyrideshanghai121406.jpgOver the years, we've seen plenty of cartoon characters pasted onto cars here in Shanghai — it's just part of Chinese car culture — but this is the biggest display of Disney devotion we have seen yet. Who needs diamond-encrusted rims when you can have cute dalmations? We can think of no better way to pimp out a VW sedan.

And, yes, the driver was male.

And Shanghainese men wonder why they are not perceived as "masculine". Even a gay guy in the west would get his ass kicked (by other gay men) for flaunting a ride like that.

I love seeing some S500 Benz, quarter million dollar car, hand crafted leather seats, with Snoopy head cusions.

It's just no. 63 on 'how to score points with Shanghai Princess' - "put something lovely (pets, cartoons, hearts) on your car" - unfortunately no. 4 - "own a BMW, Merc or higher" as been ignored here.
