It's OK to eat Chinese food on Christmas

Shanghaiist is doing it.

(And so are billions of other people.)

Just wanted to share this excellent holiday video clip.

Happy Holidays from your friendly neighborhood city blog!

LOVE the clip!

Fa ra-ra-ra-ra, ra-ra-ra-ra .

I love this movie, but this scene is all wrong. Chinese speakers have problems pronouncing "r" sounds in English but don't have any problems pronouncing "l" sounds. Japanese speakers, on the other hand, have the reverse problem, as noted in the scene from "Lost in Translation" where the prostitute asks Bill Murray's character to "Lip [her] stockings," instead of "Rip [her] stockings."

Sheesh! If you're gonna make fun of Asian accents, at least do it right.

Ha ha... I just watched this movie!

You'll shoot your eye out

I was beginning to wonder how my Xmas has changed since moving to China... and it really hasn't. Watch movies and eat Chinese food.
