Photo of 'Sunbucks' at Yu Yuan

SunbucksCoffee011507.jpgAround a week ago, we typed this:

Shanghaiist is reminded that when he first set foot in the city four years ago, there was a Moonbucks cafe situated in the Yu Gardens. Does anyone happen to have a picture of the logo? Send it to us, and we'll take you out to coffee (at the real Starbucks of course).

Well, looks like we owe Shanghaiist reader Helene Cormier a cup o' joe (and it also looks like we were wrong about the name 'Moonbucks.') Helene said she took this photo at the end of 2003.

Thanks, Helene!

I remember visiting Qingdao and seeing a coffee shop called Starsbuck. Not sure if it is still there but someone made a record of it on flickr.

Makes that "landmark" IP case for Starbucks against xing ba ke seem even more of a joke.

But hey, if the coffee is good and the price is cheap, I'll be there.
