Shanghai to test 'bullet trains' next month

chinabullettrarin011707.jpgAccording to Xinhua, these bullet trains are powered by "CRH," which we all know stands for "China Railway Highspeed," and can go 250 km/hour.

Six bullet trains will be put into the trial operation next month on the Shanghai-Hanzhou and Shanghai-Nanjing routes, and more will be used on lines across China, according to the SMG.

The train is designed with eight carriages and a capacity of more than 610 passengers. They were built on Japan's Shinkansen bullet train technology by Qingdao-based Sifang Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co., Ltd under China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock (CSR).

Color us overly cautious, but we'll wait until the train passes its "test" before hopping aboard.

Hmm China Railway Highspeed, is that owned by China Eastern by any chance?

If it's made in China and goes more than about walking speed, I prefer to walk.

Hope China will not stop its effort in railroad.

In the long term there is less pollution than with cars...
