Um, probably not. But just as word spread that Chinese tourists were being told to steer clear of the South Pole, we received an email ... about a Chinese man who was almost at the South Pole. We'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he doesn't have access to many Chinese newspapers down there.

Kunming resident and outdoor adventurer Jin Feibao is part of an international team en route to the South Pole. Jin has summited Mount Everest with his brother Jin Feibiao and is planning on summiting the highest mountains on all seven continents. He calls Kunming daily and makes reports to his brother from his tent which are translated into English and sent to us. He's now less than 40 km from the South Pole.
