Thanks for the review. I thought the show totally JAMMED and was impressed. We paid the high price for 11th row seats and were extremely pleased - ears are still ringing today :)

I echo the comments on them needing a bar. We did bring buds in,,, just not beer :) :)

Hope I get to see Roger play again in this lifetime!!!

The bar I had in mind wasn't really one that serves Buds for 80 RMB. I was kind of hoping to find a nice rack of bing de Tsingtao longnecks for 15.

Yea I like the BYOB thing- why go down the road of paying 80 rmb for a bud when you can stroll right in with your own? Reminds of the days sneaking beers in to Ranger games at MSG.

yes maybe they could mention BYOB on the ticket then, because after the rush to get inat the last minute if you realize you could have bought some cans downstairs it's already too late.. popcorn and water to see waters, thank god we could still smoke at the top floor windows to get the psychedelic side of the moon ;o)

@vagada

I dont think they care at if you bring booze in for concerts at the Shanghai Grand Stage. At the Rolling Stones concert I walked in with four six-packs of Tsingtao cleverly diguised in Kedi bags. Just one of the many nice things about living in China I guess: Concerts are BYOB.

Yeah, I had a bunch of Tsingtao cans in my bag. But I still think the place could do with a bar or two serving cold beers (as opposed to warm, shaken ones).

>Our only gripe? The Shanghai Grand Stage >desperately needs to install a bar serving a >whole bunch of cold beers. Desperately.

Bags were not checked. We went in with a bottle of whiskey and a sixpack of beer without problems.

Well, I was going to write a review, but you've summed up things pretty well here. On the whole, I thought it was a very good concert. The potential for embarrassment was huge - this was a man in his 50s reliving his glory years after all. And it did sort of have a Hard Rock/IMAX sort of feel to it - a suburban, baby boomer idea of 'trippy'and 'rock 'n roll'. Plus, his 'new' song against W had the subtly of a gorilla hitting you over the head with a guitar. But the production values and sound were all excellent and it was longer than other concerts I've seen. So, good job Roger...
