Really? It's right on the Suzhou Creek. Take the Line 3 to Zhengping Rd, exit and walk through the apartment complex south of the station. Come out the other side and you'll be on a road that follows the Creek. Turn left and walk 200m to the old bridge. The DZMZ is on the other side of the bridge, a building that is basically a part of the same structure as the bridge itself. The best CDs and DVDs are on the bottom floor.

Granted, these directions are from a loooong time ago, and there are always rumors of the place getting knocked down. There is mad redevelopment going on on the other side on the north side of the Creek. Last time I went, all that was left was an old colonial era building alone and in very bad condition. I was surprised it was still standing. Maybe the developers think they can turn it into another hipster hideout or creative workspace.

Better luck next time. Hope you found something worthwhile anyways.

It's probably the one across the bridge over Suzhou Creek south of Zhengping Rd. Lemme look up the name... DZMZ or 大自鸣钟. Described here:

I'm not a movie buff, but I can vouch for their selection of music CDs. I dunno if the quantity is that great but the selection is pretty good. The second-hand electronics part of the market is actually my favorite part to browse.
