Yah mon! Ziggy Marley tomorrow night

All you reggae fans who missed the legendary Byron Lee on his Shanghai tour last year must be kicking yourselves. (Actually, everyone missed the legendary Byron Lee on his Shanghai tour last year, because his band showed up on stage at the Shanghai Centre but he didn’t).

But now you can make amends. Ziggy Marley plays the Yun Feng Theatre tomorrow night — the same venue where James Brown tore the house down and Dirty Three fans tore the curtain down. Word is that there are still some 380 RMB and 480 RMB tickets available. Expect some good, hard, honest skanking to Ziggy’s own back catalogue of songs, as well as a bunch of the celebrated songs of his father Bob. We’re looking forward to One Good Spliff.

Ziggy Marley at Yun Feng Theatre , 1700 Beijing Xi Lu near Jiaozhou Lu (北京西路1700号 近胶州路) March 27, 8pm. To order tickets, call 6289 3919 or visit see www.cwest.cn.
