Bless Sonic Youth for their contribution to rock music and indie culture, but at $50-75 US dollars, I'm not feelin' it. Though I'd cough up double that for a night with Guided by Voices.

I sort of feel the same way as Inaction Hero. Of course, I did spend some $800 to Suede in Hong Kong - a band of which I owned ZERO cds before I saw them.

At $75, will we subjected to 30 minutes of Thurston Moore's feedback?

I'd pay $200 to see a reunited Superchunk though.

Superchunk! You got me musically teary-eyed, TSkillet. Can we add Shonen Knife to the Shanghai rock fantasy? We'd save on the airfare bringing them over from Japan.

Shanghai has a skyline to.

The seating plan went online this morning - sorry for any delay.

In (perhaps unnecessary) defence of the ticket prices - until there's adequate infrastructure in this town to put these gigs on, live music will be slightly more expensive than some other nights out. Having said that, wasn't that Tiesto gig 300 RMB for 3,000 tickets in a club with no extra costs?? Phew! Nice.

We can assure those that go this will be a night to remember.

So - umm - cos I want to listen to hours of feedback...I called and someone took my details and ...do I have tickets or what now? Who knows? Very mysterious. Anyway - in some countries that are large islands in the southern hemisphere, you can pay up to $150 for a concert ticket. Ouch.

The Plugg (www.theplugg.com) are giving away a pair of tickets to see Sonic Youth perform Daydream Nation in LA! Check it out.
