An accident at a subway construction site in Shanghai early on Tuesday has claimed the life of a construction worker, police and witnesses said.

The accident occurred at 7:30 a.m. during construction of Shanghai's No. 7 subway, a 33.3-km mass transit line linking the outer Baoshan District with the booming Pudong New District, local police told Xinhua.

They are currently being installed at Changshu Lu station.

  • Those glass doors have been installed already in many stations. They were also mentioned in many of the articles covering the above incidents.

How about cornering off the tracks with glass dividers that open when the train comes to a stop - just like they have in Hong Kong!
