Formula: if you even bothered to read the article (not to mention the preceding posters' comments) you would know that the building was not designed by Chinese architects, but by a group in Copenhagen. Please be aware of what you are commenting on before trying to criticize next time.

Do Chinese architects think that all they have to do is produce cookie-cutter modern architecture, add-in a dash of "China" and someohow it becomes interesting?!?!

This proposal seems pretty dead anyway. I've been following it for quite a while as I'm from the Copenhagen area and have known about BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) for a long time.

I'd be surprised if this projects gets a go-ahead. Although, you never know in Shanghai.

Be sure to check out forum.skyscraperpage.com as well. Great forum.

yeah it looks like you just walk up the side and jump into wherever you're going. Incredible anyway, hope I'm still in town to see it

I like photo #5, where the people are just walking up the side of the building. Bring Danny Way back and let him skateboard down the side of it!

There is already a building like that and actually a pretty prestigious: the new Party School in Pudong. I have been there and talked to the architects a few years ago. Pretty amazing building.
