Or more like who won’t be performing. We’ve already told you about Live Earth, Al Gore’s 24-hour, 7-continent series of concerts on 7/7/07. Well, lists of performers at different venues (cities participating are: East Rutherford, New Jersey [near New York]; London; Rio de Janeiro; Maropeng [near Johannesburg]; Tokyo; Shanghai; and Sydney) are starting to be announced. First up, the US and the UK.
Here’s who will be playing at Wembley Stadium in London:
Beastie Boys, Black Eyed Peas, Bloc Party, Corinne Bailey Rae, Damien Rice, David Gray, Duran Duran, Foo Fighters, Genesis, James Blunt, John Legend, Keane, Madonna, Paolo Nutini, Razorlight, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snow Patrol
AFI, Akon, Alicia Keys, Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews Band, Fall Out Boy, John Mayer, Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson, KT Tunstall, Ludacris, Melissa Etheridge, The Police, Rihanna, Roger Waters, Sheryl Crow, Smashing Pumpkins
And, cross-checking with the original list of big names that was released, who does that possibly leave Shanghai with?
That’s right — absolutely no one. But let’s take a wild guess and say that Cui Jian will be there. (Oh, and Robin Gibb.)
Not only do we not know who will be performing, the Shanghai concert location is the only one that is still TBD.
