The Infadels (and Killa Kela) are coming!

Shanghaiist can't stop listening to the Infadels. They are just too darn catchy.

For fans of electronic rock, the Infadels are bliss. Marching disco-punk meet rave riffs and pop licks to make freakishly catchy gems that beg to be played again, and again, and again. "Love Like Semtex" seems to be the it single — and rightly so, the lead off their studio debut is infectious, frenzied dance-rock at its finest — but it's "Jagger 67" (video attached) and "Topboy" that Shanghaiist can't ... stop ... listening ... to. (We're onto a 12-step program now — will let you know how that goes.)

As such, we were beside ourselves to hear that the five lads from Hackney are coming to Shanghai (hip hip!) with beatboxer extraordinaire Killa Kela (hooray!). Mark your calendars: June 2 is the day — and unlike the last gig in the Bacardi series, it's actually on a weekend night. Praise be! (Mind you, a Thursday night Bugz in the Attic show didn't stop us from glugging 20 kuai mojitos all night long ...)

Look for an exclusive interview in next month's Shanghai Talk in which the band discusses starting out in the Arctic Monkeys' shadow, their obsession with acid, the highly anticipated second album (due to hit stores next January), and — like the good little English boys they are — drinking tea and eating biscuits. Whether it was dog collars and black leather or fun fur and candy bracelets in your deep, dark past, the Infadels are sure to please.

Bacardi Sino Sessions present The Infadels with Killa Kela and the Banana Monkeys. Saturday, June 2 at Absolute House (Chaling Lu near Xietu Lu). Doors at 8pm. Tickets 120 (door), 80 (advance), 60 (student) and includes one drink. For more information, visit bacardisinosessions.com or email tickets@spli-t.com.

Killa Kela, oh my stars. Saw him once in Liverpool, unbelievable.

I'd even drink Bacardi to see him.

James,

Killa Kela live is pretty sick. Ever seen Shlomo (from Leeds)? He's crazy as well -- he's working on a new project now: a human beatbox choir. Can you imagine?!

hey panthea, bit of good news. i'm helping to bring the yanbian beatboxing kids (featured in the documentary trailer i showed at pecha kucha) for this event as well. they'll be performing at both the beijing and shanghai shows....will keep ya updated.
