Shanghaiist: Dumplings to queue for

Although I don't remember the address of the place, but of the 30 or so places I have eaten dumplings at, there is one famous place that suppose to have the best. Its in the "Old Town" Shopping section where their dumplings are so popular that there is a constant line of people waiting for them (about two-three hours on the weekends). I don't remember the name, but with the line its easy to find. The front of the place is glass so you can see the entire staff making nothing but crab/pork dumplings.

Sorry for my outburst I've been eating at DTF since 1981 had it in 3 different countries and you WONT get montezuma's revenge eating there because they are so clean

ummm, yea, we just went to this dumpling place and we got SICK!...maybe it was our fault for ordering the crab dumplings but WTF! doubt we'll be going to the "best SH dumplings EVEN for that price (oh, plus the stomach medicine!!!)

@ Hank, don't get so worked up over crap food, dude! The best I know of is on Shaanxi Nan Lu near Julu Lu. There's probably better elsewhere, but I never leave the French concession for anything other than airports :P

As much as I like Ding Tai Fung (and I do - I've been addicted since my first trip to the original one in Taipei way back in the early 90s) - Hank is pretty much incorrect. DTF is great , but it's also pricey and slightly overrated (it's not nearly as good as the one in Taipei) You can have 3 or 4 longs of Jia Jia Tong Bao for the price of 1 at DTF.

You fucking idiot the only place for soup dumplings in shanghai or anywhere is at din tai fung on shui chen lu or xintiandi. The are the best always have been and always will be you loser.

Is that street crossing correct? I see those streets at two different areas of the city.
