Beijing Olympics: The one-ticket policy

We heard, this past Sunday, that tickets for the Olympics were going on sale, and we were excited, for about four-tenths of second before sinking back into our normal state of depression. However, upon further perusal of reports we found out that there is going to be a one -ticket policy for the opening and closing ceremonies, which supposedly will make it hard for families to attend. Tickets for other "high-demand" sessions are going to be limited to two tickets per person.

As for the issue of preventing fakes—the news broadcast above (in Chinese), says that for the opening ceremonies of the Olympics that you would have to provide ID and other information when purchasing the tickets. At the event, they will check to make sure all information matches up. You can, of course, give the ticket you buy to someone else—but you can only do this once, and can only be completed through an official application process.
