Photography Exhibition Reception: Shanghai - The New Noir.
Photography exhibitions appear to be a 2007 trend. Tonight, see the opening reception of photographer Heungman's collection. The exhibition contrasts the great metropolies of New York and Shanghai, and explores their lurking "sinister energies".

Rocksteady at Pirates

Brain Failure release party
Beijing street punk legends Brain Failure hit Yu Yin Tang to release their new album "Coming to Beijing". Tickets 40rmb.

Saturday May 12th
ChinaNext: Photography Auction for Shanghai's Underprivileged Students.
Shanghai's Flickr community have organised a fundraiser for local student charity, Shanghai Sunrise. This fundraising night features an auction of 10 photographs contributed by Flickr photographers, roving portrait takers and photography slideshows.

Wild Child Once more with Cold Fairyland
Graffiti meets music at Yu Yin Tang this Saturday. The art starts from 1:30pm, and music from Zhang Quan and Cold Fairyland starts from 7:30pm.

BonBon has brought Goldie back to Shanghai
Goldie hits the floor at 1:30am. 'Nuff said. RMB130 entry on the door, standard BonBon open bar deal.

Bananas at 4Live
Bananas returns this month featuring some "weird old disco" and "other oddities". It will make you move. Five deck masters turn on the fun from 10pm at 4Live. RMB30 on the door, and a banana drink special of course.
