It appears that I spoke too soon- as of last night, myspace.com now works again in on my PRC internet connection. Weird.

this myspace block thing is so lame. it's one thing to redirect everyone through the chinese myspace.cn site (annoying - now i can't read most of my own page because it's in chinese) but now we also can't access ANY music on the pages. there is so much great music is on there. normally i keep my whinging to myself... i love living in shanghai but some things here really are tedious. is it just me or is the music on myspace also blocked now?

I can get into my normal myspace.com account by going to myspace.cn The features are all in Chinese, but I can check my messages, add friends, etc... just try to remember where the buttons are if you can't read chinese... i hope this isn't a permanent solution, really sucks! i think it's 2 steps back for myspace if it is...

Huh. I merged the accounts, basically, back when it launched. When I log in on .cn, it's fine. I noticed the .com block two days ago. I think it's all a sinister plot to force Chinese users who have .com accounts to migrate over, and instantly increase the number of .cn accounts to make it look better. After all, if Rupert and Wendi can block Danwei... ;-)

That's funny, when I tried to sign into myspace.cn with my myspace.com account name and password, I was asked if I would like to merge both accounts. Maybe it was in Chinese or something? Take another look. The myspace.com block is news to me though. It had been accesible up through a couple days ago.
