iWhat? Here is more Meizu Minione news

0518meizu.jpgAs June 15th (iPhone launch date) draws near, for us tech enthusiasts, it could only mean one thing: We are that much closer to the launch of Meizu’s Minione, formerly known as the M8 (or the iPhone clone). Actually, we have no idea when the freaking thing will be released, but its gotta be getting close, and yesterday, from Uberphones, by the way of Gizmodo, we gleaned a few more juicy bits about the Meizu offering:

The Meizu MiniOne smartphone is truly a wonder, featuring a Samsung ARM11 533MHz and 128MB of SDRAM, running on Windows CE 6. The list of features are pretty much on the high end of things, boasting Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, a DMB tuner, GPS navigation, support for a vast array of audio and video formats, a brilliant 16 million color 720 x 480 resolution TFT touchscreen, a VGA camera for video calls, and a 3 megapixel camera for candid shots. The smallest capacity MiniOne can hold up to 4GB of data and retails for $260 while the 16GB version costs nearly double at $450.

We are somewhat doubtful that Meizu can pull all those things off: WiFi, a DMB tuner and GPS nav? But hell, at those price points, even if one or two features don’t pan out, we’d still buy it in a heartbeat. Now only if Meizu will confirm a launch date.

I just bought a Nokia N93i recently, and used the damn tight uploader ShoZu to upload my pictures right away to flickr. But then I got a letter from China Mobile with the numbers 824 at the bottom and realized that it's not THAT cheap to use GPRS... So watch out! ;)

Learned my lesson. Now I'm using the WiFi function, haha.

I love my phone, a Konka D169 slight Nokia rip-off, sleek little fox.

what are you gonna use GPS for?!

GPRS is much cheaper if you sign up for one of the packages. I pay 100 RMB a month for 800 MB of data transfer, but it's still very slow while we wait for 3G.
