From wodingg.com we discovered that Google China (soon to be China Google?) has come out with a new search engine function called Google Sheng Huo (生活), which you can use to search for stuff like housing, jobs, and stuff to buy. Basically what it does is to gather results from other websites and search engines.
For example, if you want a job, you select the criterion (place, industry, salary, date information was released, etc.) and then it finds stuff, culling information from well-known job sites such as chinahr.com, zhaopin.com, and others. For housing, it takes information from sites such as Kijiji, Zhantai and others. For buying stuff, there's Chinese Ebay ... you get the point. You can also get train tickets, though these are usually not "new" tickets but rather ones from other people who are selling theirs, again through sites that specialize in this kind of stuff. So far, we think it's pretty decent, if only because it saves you the time and hassle of searching all those places separately. Obviously, it helps if you can type in Chinese, thereby widening the scope of the search, but you can use English and other languages as well.
