Bring 'em on! Beijing prepares for the terrorists

Almost as fun as playing Counter-Strike was watching this video of how China is gearing up for the thorny security problem that is the 2008 Olympics. These are the guys that can do 50 one-armed push-ups without breaking a sweat; they know whether to snip the red wire or the blue wire first; they will make sure that the possibility of being held hostage and then beheaded by an obscure group of Islamic insurgents won't crimp your style!

    Wow.

I hope the Beijing police are a bit more on the ball and rough and ready than the shanghai ponce police, otherwise it's going to be a terrorist/drunken laowai free-for-all :D

All that's missing is the theme music to "Hogan's Heroes".

  • That video is BRILLIANT. I don't know where to find retired 1980's chinese war movie directors, but whoever put together this propoganda clearly does.

Meanwhile, pensionless SOE employees, migrant construction workers, evicted peasants and ef el gee all prepare their heroes. Think "Rocky Balboa" training taken 10 times more severe.

The scene outside of the games will be at least as interesting as the events themselves.

These special forces guys look a lot more professional than your average bike riding, loose uniformed Gong An.

I wonder if one of them is named JieKe Bao-Er?

  • friscokid

yeah, but how are they in tibetan fingernail removal and uighur coke-bottle enemas?
