Watch out for the Ladyflash: Go! Team headed our way

In the spirit of keeping you, the readership, informed as to the latest and greatest Shanghai happenings, we thought we would share an exciting email we received from our friends over at Spli-t Works. We've been told to keep our calendars clear on the 30th of June, as Absolute House is expected to be graced by The Go! Team.

For those of you who haven't heard their 2004 release Thunder, Lightning, Strike, we encourage you to check it out. This album remains on heavy rotation in Shanghaiist's playlist — it's essentially "skip hop", or the kind of hip hop you would skip rope to. If this album had been around back in the day during recess, the music alone might have meant more friendly rope skipped on the playground and fewer skinned knees on the blacktop — yes, The Go! Team has the power to be childhood-altering.

The above video is from Coachella 2006, where Shanghaiist's friends in attendance reported the band knocked the collective socks off of a packed crowd. Expect a high energy show — make sure to buy tickets early (not sure if that link is legit) and bring enough friends to form a huddle.
