Hand it to Chongqing — at least the city's public toilets aren't boring. Last year, we told you about their streetside urinals that didn't leave enough to the imagination. Now come the outdoor sinks that are a dream come true for anyone who has ever fantasized about washing their hands while entering a woman from behind (you know who you are).
The original story doesn't really say exactly where in the city you would find these sinks, but based on the photo it does appear to be a kid-friendly place (except, we guess, for the porn sinks).

considering how few men actually bother to wash their hands after going to the toilet, this could be a good thing.
great... give ocd'ers another excuse to wash their hands repeatedly.
Now if doggy-style counters showed up at local pubs, that would be more in-line with real life.

I've seen these exact same sinks in the men's of a fancy bar somewhere before. they must have made a couple extra.
Is her head jammed into the wall? Ouch. I saw one of these in a Beijing bar/restaurant. Let's just say they were frighteningly accurate.
This is a perfect example of the Chinese government's double standard with its so called 'public decency policy' that is often used for censorship of relevant issues. When censorship is needed for the good of society, such as mentioned earlier, i.e. negative image of women in the eyes of young people, apparently this was not given a second thought.
It's clear that the local government of Chongqing supports anything that degrades a woman, especially something that resonates women as a subservient sexual object. How can this be acceptable for public society? I cannot believe that public money was spent on something as distasteful as this.
What sexual devices, fantasies, images, fetishes, choices, etc. that people have or make in the privacy of their homes, or private clubs is their business. In public it is a different concern altogether. Speaking from a heterosexual point of view, this product design invites a user to experience men's sexual fantasies about dominating a women and condones it by publicly displaying it. If this is ok, then where are the product designs that invite us to experience women's fantasies about men. Without both products there is no equality only another example of men being disrespectful, looking down on women, and degrading them in a public realm.
This is to be expected given that the majority of policy makers in China are men. The lack of responsible choices never cease to amaze me. Something should be done to condemn this and to remove these products from public use. Chinese women organize, take action, and don't tolerate men's fraternity house, pubescent alpha-male behavior.

By installing an obscene piece of sink in the public lavatory plainly demonstrate people of Chongqing lack of respect of women and try to educate the children of the same.
To Trev, may be this is an view from a laowai, but do you respect your mother who is a woman as well.
Demeaning to women? Gimme a break! Check out the legs on the thing, I've been in China long enough to know that 95% of younger Chinese women have legs skinnier than a beanpole and less muscle than a... something not very muscular. Those legs are a dudes legs.
Personally, I'm disgusted that the Chongqing government would do this, it once again clearly shows their discrimination against men, men who like to cross-dress.

It appears that you are part of the problem in the world with your biased sexist mentality. Take a Gender course and maybe you might learn something about your own insecure male social conditioning. Like someone said above, is this the way you think of your mother. They are women too. Does your mother deserve to be portrayed like this?
