China is where most wedding gowns are made today. Perhaps she works at or her family owns one of the many factories? This seems like it was some sort of marketing thing.

Since they're so rich, they've bought the rights to have 28 children. The long train was strictly practical for the impending glorious multiple births at the end of the line - 1 meter for each baby future party leader. What better way to show off your wealth and fertility than public demonstration?

How much will she enjoy that big dress when her hubby is off "traveling on business" to various KTVs around the country or "working late" at the local KTVs. And of course since this dress is longer than the ones used by English Royalty, the new couple must be richer and more socially advanced than the queen of england.
