Shanghaiist’s busy backroom techies have been wrangling with all manner of nerdy stuff to ensure the delivery our photo slideshow to the eager, burger slider-enthralled masses. We had a great time yesterday, and from the above photos we are fairly sure that you did as well.
One difference that you will notice about this slideshow is our use of Google’s Picasa photo album system. Flickr’s photoservers (and hence our nice Slideshow app) is still up the proverbial poo creek, so this little cyber refugee was forced to join another pixel-filled shanty village. You can see other recent Shanghaiist photos on our the Shanghaiist Picasa Photo Albums page.
For those of you that hate an automatic slideshow, Google’s boffins have duly granted the wishes of narky slideshow control freaks the long-awaited option of a manually-started slideshow. We hope that you’re finally happy. Or not. For the confused, just place your mouse over the image to reveal the slideshow controls if all this strange rambling is confusing you.
For devout Flickr lovers like Shanghaiist, don’t worry! We have also mirrored all of our photos to our usual Shanghaiist Flickr page. For those of you with the awesome Firefox+Flickr1.5 Plugin combo, you won’t miss a beat when viewing our pages.
Of course, you can still contribute photographs to Shanghaiist. If you have some photos from the event (hopefully not any of our UK friend and his full-English Breakfast on show), you can still post your photos on Flickr, tag them with “shanghaiist”. These will be automatically featured on our Shanghaiist Contribute Page. Otherwise, you can simply email your photos to photos[at]shanghaiist.com.
