Mailbag: Shanghai's poor, misunderstood expat male sluts

I am dating a Chinese woman and she is very much big headed as her Western counterparts. She did ge a degree in science in United States, but her parents tell me that she was like that even before we met ;-). Funny enough, we met on the PlentyOfFish.com. On the other hand dating scene in Shanghai is a bit predatory, to say at least, and girls are very keen to meet foreigners. But it is always like that in poor countries, women are into this game to advance their social and financial status, and expats are just handy. At a right place, at a right time. Obviously, for girls here it just a free ticket for a possibly big ride. I used to live in New York, and there women don't pay attention to expats (or should I call them immigrants) at all. Obviously, you can watch as many episodes of Sex & City, and none of girls is going to fall for an immigrant, not to mention illegal one. Even in the West it is very rare for the woman to be earning more than a man, at the time they met.

p.s. women are women, for every stereotype you give me about asian women, i'll give you two for western women. but guess what, it's not a fucking competition. there is no scoreboard.

i think western and asian women are all quite nice. you meet a few bad apples here and there.

I would guess that alot of these bitter comments come from western chicks because the same types of western chicks say the same thing about any hot girl in their home country.

What types am I talking about? The same kinds of girls that get "hips" confused with "gut". Lots of guys love J-Lo's hips, but take notice that she has no gut.

It is the great achille's heel of western women that having a gut is an acceptable condition and that men should just accept it. We don't have to and we won't.

Think about this. J Howard Marshall and Hugh Hefner can get serviced by hot women because of their money and "male swagger". Female equivalents would have to trawl the nursing homes because only a deranged younger man would service them.

Yawn. This has been a tired, played out Shanghai storyline for nearly ten years now. It resurfaces in some form of media or public forum about once a month, enthusiastically typed out by its author--who's generally been in Shanghai less than a year--as if they were positing something that represented original insight into the psychosocial construct that results in easy pussy for western men.

In my opinion and experience, mainland Chinese girls are not attractive. And therein lies the reason: they are girls. Both physically and mentally, they are no match for real women from the West in their same age bracket.

Give me a well-rounded white girl with beautiful boobs, voluptuous hips, full red lips and big colourful eyes, over a sulking little girl with the figure of a boy any day!

Mentally, I find Western women more independent and more willing to stand up for what they believe in. In contrast the Chinese girls I meet behave like seven year olds to get what they want. I don't want to date a 25 year old with pink frou frou dangling off their pathetic pink mobile phone which they tap away at with their stupid painted Hello Kitty fingernails with a screwed up face because they can't take more than five minutes conversation with foreign adults.

Where are the real Chinese women? It seems the only real women I meet are over 40, have lived abroad or have been "broken in" by a Westerner.

did you buy that story? I had read it somewhere else time ago...
