Japanese man looks for Beijing subway girl

A 29 year old Japanese man, Saitou Takuya (斋藤卓也) who is madly in love (so he thinks) with a girl he saw on the Beijing subway has put up a video of her (that he secretly took with his cell phone, he admits) and asked the public to help him in his search for her. He looks and sounds very desperate to find her in his video uploaded on Youku (we are beginning to LOVE this website!) which includes the following message:

我是一个日本青年,我非常热爱中国,在中国已经呆了10年,是位日语教师.我希望通过这种方式找到我在地铁里遇见的中国女孩,她是那种具有中国传统美德的女孩,在地铁里她不去坐老人和孩子的专属座位而是站在一旁,把座位让给需要的人,她的这种美德深深的吸引了我.我对她一见钟情,希望能够再次遇见她,我是真诚的.
I am a young Japanese guy. I love China and have been here for the last 10 years working as a Japanese teacher. I am hoping to find this Chinese girl I met on the subway. She is the kind of girl with traditional Chinese virtues and would not take the seats on the train meant for the elderly and the kids. Instead she just stands there and lets others who need the seat have it. It is this virtue of hers that has deeply attracted me. It was love at first sight. I am hoping to meet her once again. I am sincere. [Translation by Shanghaiist]

Here are some highly inspirational comments that have come in from netizens:

日本猪都是杂交的东东,劣等岛国习气!变态!杀光日本猪,把日本猪从中国土地上赶出去
Japanese pigs are all the products of inbreeding and incest. They are an evil island nation! What a freak! Kill all Japanese pigs! Drive them out from Chinese soil!

Japanese dog, she is not going to come with you. When I am old some day and about to die, I will come to Japan to set off fire crackers.

Look at you, and you want a Chinese woman? Have all the comfort women died in Japan?

As for as Shanghaiist is concerned though, we don't think Takuya-san caught a glimpse of the mystery subway girl's face, so she could very well have been a tranny for all we know.

not a tranny. it's model zhang zilin.

It does look staged. An empty seat (even if reserved for the weak and infirmed) in a subway train in China?!

why does shanghaiist publish this kind of news? and why are these kind of news always accompanied by the most stupid "netizens comments"?

i think it's somewhat interesting

very interesting, but judging from the guy's accent, his rhetoric and the cliche background music, it's very much likely a spoof by a bored chinese man...

it's a set-up to incite the little Chinese boys and their insecurities.

Why cant a Japanese fall in love with a chinese girl. Thoese people are insane! They are just jealous of the encourage of the little Japanese guy.I support you,Takuya-san!!!

It seems Kenneth has had one too many bad experiences with trannies because he uses this word derogatorily. I don't understand why the Chinese are so cruel to this man who has the courage to look for his love at 1st sight. Yes, they've done atrocious things to Chinese but we really shouldn't hate the entire nation for it either! I think there's a lot of self-loathing in the Chinese hatred for the Japanese. Next time when someone comes to ravage your country, instead of falling apart, fight for it!

On the contrary, I have many tranny friends, MTF and FTM, pre-op, post-op and everything in between. One friend has just gone back to the US for surgery. I happen to have a very high respect for friends like him as individuals who are in control of their own destinies.

But they love Chinese girls!

"next time when someone comes to ravage your country, instead of falling apart, fight for it."
we didnt fall apart. we were fighting to aganist the japanese. you shut up without knowing the history.

But in history, didn't the Chinese in WW2 mostly fight other Chinese, in internal power struggles, and ultimately leave it to America to defeat Japan and kick them out of China?

History is the past. Yes, we shouldn't forget about the history. The most important thing is we can learn from the history not just the hatred for the nation. There's lots of things we can and should learn from Japanese. Everyone admits that. But please don't mix the love with politics. There is no wrong with the Japanese guy. He just purly expressed his feeling. That's all. Maybe he didn't think about the consequences. Anyway, I dont think he is at fault to express his feeling in order to find the girl. On the contrary, I hate those chinese guys who only know to curse people with super dirty words. Shame on them.

#13, you were absolutely correct. Furthermore, when the Japs stormed into China, the Chinese were so stunned that they just stood there paralyzed in fear! For those who think my opinions are biased, watch this documentary on Google here:

English:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4920138942953644691&q=rape+of+nanking&total=110&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=1

Chinese:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5620788244612361219&q=rape+of+nanking+Chinese&total=63&start=10&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=1

So my point is: if you know you're going to die, die fighting! Self-pity only leads to self-righteousness and extreme hatred.

#15 you do know that google video is not available in China, right?

Chinese need to change the bias mind to the outside world. Sino-Japan need more opportunities to exchange with each others.
Including media freedom, and government exchange on politics.
What's the Chinese commented above surely is disgusting.... No more than a Chinese should be ashamed by them and their comments above.
I am really touched by what's the Japan's appeal to seeking his virtue and love. I vote for you... Omitted and ignore the worst and disgusting comment from some extremist of Chinese...
Go on My dear Japanese friends......
Be brave and persist....
