Update your website, China Daily!

queen.jpgIt's been about three days since the BBC apologised to the Queen for misrepresenting a sequence in a program in which she appeared to have lost her temper with celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz (the one who took the picture of John Lennon in the nude hugging Yoko Ono). But we find our dear China Daily still linking to the following story on its homepage about the BBC program, A Year with the Queen, which tells us:

Queen Elizabeth II is shown walking into a room in Buckingham Palace - which is cluttered with camera equipment - wearing her crown and her Order of the Garter robes.

Leibovitz tells her: "I think it will look better without the crown because the Garter robe is so ..."

Before she can finish saying "extraordinary," the queen gives her an icy stare and replies: "Less dressy. What do you think this is?" and points to what she is wearing.

Cameras follow the queen as she storms off, an official lifting the large train of her blue velvet cape off the floor, as she tells her lady-in-waiting: "I'm not changing anything. I've had enough dressing like this, thank you very much."

The head of BBC One, Peter Fincham, may lose his job after the royal faux pas, but has vowed to stay on. Unfortunately, China Daily seems oblivious to all the latest developments. Let's see how long it will take for them to update their website this time! We certainly hope some of their staff read this blog.

Moreover, the resolution of the story is that a couple of days after the original story came out, it was revealed that the sequence was editted together and not the real event.

So you are not only incorrect, but this has NOTHING to do with China nor Shanghai.
