They're looking for foreigners, and they want blood. Especially if it's RH-negative.
In an attempt to diversify their blood bank, the Shanghai Blood Center is calling for foreigners to start rolling up their sleeves en masse (you'll want to click the link to SBC's webpage-- it involves anthropomorphized blood drops, dancing). Since blood type correlates with race, many types common in the West are all but nonexistent in China. In addition to collecting and providing blood, the Center organizes blood type "clubs" for the dissemination of medical information and pick-up lines involving the phrase "compatible fluids."
Fully half of Shanghai's annual 80 tons of donated blood goes to people from other provinces and nations. So get over your trypanophobia (fear of needles) and roll up that sleeve.

I'd like to help (I'm A neg)but I'd also like to be alive in six months. In the land of poisoned toothpaste, poisoned food, fake food, officials on the take, and general motivation by greed, no way will I let any state-owned Chinese enterprise come at me with a needle.

Part of me is still very apprehensive about donating blood in China.
Perhaps if the government were to do it through a more accepted intermediary say World Link or United Family hospital then more people would be inclined to donate.

Being a universal donor, I usually try to donate whenever I can, but not in a country where something like half of the HIV cases came from the donation process as a result of reusing equipment and other forms of negligence.

For all the guys who claim that they want to give blood but it's not a safe thing to do in China, stop fucking around! Literally! We all know that you came to China for cheap meat but we also know that even cheap meat has a price for you to pay.

who says there's no rh negative among chinese people? The ratio of that is 0.3% among han chinese, and higher in some minorities. I'm a manchurian and I am an rh negative.
