Oh, please.
Obviously the movie has a budget of more then just a couple million dollars. Do you think there will be anything in the frames that is not supposed to be there?
Of course the set decoraters check out what buildings should be there and which not...
Look at the quality of the movie, the dresses, the cars, everything! It's completely obvious that they care a lot about being right in time.

Thanks Maureen

Actually, I'd previously googled already.

You'd be surprised at the volume of junk now available.

However, your suggestion has been the clearest/most succinct.

I can now embed.

That should speak to why this site is as successful as it is.

Keep up the great work, and thanks again!

>12 seconds into the trailer: is that a 1940s-style >skyscraper in the background ...?

I asked a question. I'm glad I got some replies, one calling me an "idiot" and one calling me a "moron". But -- "Zing!" -- it sounds like Ang Lee had it right after all. Question answered. Thanks team!

Zing, 13! Was that an indirect defense of the morons that thought 1940s Shanghai couldn't possibly have a multi-storied structure?

Must have been a mistake! This Ang Lee guy must be new to the biz.

> My guess is it's the clock tower at the old museum, now the home of Kathleen's. Or it could be another clock tower.

Do you want a third guess? You don't sound too sure.

1 and 3: You guys are idiots. That is not a skyscraper. The set for this movie is a studio where they have built some 1940s-era Shanghai street scenes. The place is well beyond any view of Jin Mao, or any of the current skyline for that matter. I have been there. While I was not at this particular shoot, a good friend of mine was an extra on this film.

My guess is it's the clock tower at the old museum, now the home of Kathleen's. Or it could be another clock tower.

#7:

It is a very complicated technique wherein you click the text in the "embed" field displayed to the right of the video. Then you copy it. Then you paste it into your blog. Note that you are pasting code (so do not paste it into a 'rich text' file)

Welcome to the blogosphere. Expect to get sworn at on a regular basis.

O wise ones (yes you who posted the youtube clip): pardon my irrelevance, but how do I go about posting a video clip to my blog like you always do here on this wonderful site?

Wow, from the preview the movie apparently centers around a naked Chinese chick running around town. Should be a classic.
