as an employer i can understand why people do this!
I have found that we often get resumes in Chinese that say they have a high-proficiency in written and spoken english. However when ask to translate their resume we often get poor English versions submitted.
This is a quick and easy way of 'separating the wheat from the chaff'.
Funny/sad thing is, your contract and instruction material will also have a similar percentage of errors.

Looks like it'd be too much work. If that's the English level of the company, I'd have to charge a lot for services. Still, it might be less frustrating that editing lawyers and business executives.
That isn't the English level of the company. The last part "Please email your CV and a new and improved interpreation of hte above to us" sort of gives it away.
Oh lamb skewer - your grumpyness has misled you. See guest #4's comment.
P.S. You forgot to write "bad china! dirty china!"
I wrote the ad.
Yes it was intentially written using poor English. The principle was that if the applicants were not able to thoroughly correct the ad, they would not be likely to serve us well.
In fact nearly all of the applicants understood that and, with a small degree of variation, correctly interpreted the original. We did receive one or two that missed the point.
