China will kill itself with pollution and the foreign powers will shatter "China" into a million pieces, never to be reunited again.

arm-chair humanitarians ululating about darfur can go f-k themselves.

foreign corporate bloodsuckers in china have the same effect the ccp has on khartoum. except they probably join hands with domestic firms in dumping pollution and death on china, with yearly environment-related deaths nearly double that of several years of sudan massacres.

ideally, china would use their influence to stop the genocide; and nanhe wouldn't be a worthless cow, 烏鴉嘴.

"Beijing proudly comes in second on that list, registering 145 micrograms of particle per cubic meter of air"

This is where Shanghaiist could have informed us of Shanghai's spot on that list...

@5

I have imagined such a scenario taking place, where in the midst of a sandstorm or 100 meter visibility smog/haze China is the only country fielding athletes in outdoor events just to rack up the medal count and proclaim natural superiority over the world's athletes, especially US athletes.

It will be quite a spectacle, Liu Xiang wearing a body suit and face mask while hurdling to gold.

What ever happened to playing through the pain?
I see it as more of a home field advantage for the Chinese, 加油.

China thinks that the Olympics is their chance to prove to the world that they've 'made it', does anybody else think that once these athletes return home their going to have a much more negative impression of China?

If China was serious about improving air and water quality it would have put measures in place and enforced laws ten years ago. Instead, western environmental technology is reverse engineered for military applications and for sale to other poor countries.

Bad, lying, crappy, worthless China.

Yesterday's Colbert Report had a great bit about smog and the Olympics (along with some other jokes at the Middle Kingdom's expense). It was some pretty harsh satire.

I am not as frivolous as you when it comes to mentioning human rights,especially where Darfur is concerned. It's an issue which China must address soon or face increased humiliation. Olympics sponsors are being heavily targetted on this issue.

Second, why on Earth would an Olympic athlete be interested in hair salon whores when they will be inside a village of the world's 10,000 fittest people. No comparison. Hopefully the official Beijing Olympics condom partner imports its wares for the athletes.
