Shanghaiist is starting to pay attention to Shandong Province's Qilu Television for the quirky things we find there. The station that brought us the story of the glass-eating wonder 24 year old Wang Chengke (王成科) recently had a talkshow which had a huge debate on whether girls should go for plastic surgery. The talkshow pitted 28 year old Beijing native Hao Lulu (郝璐璐) against Qiu Lili (邱丽莉) of the Shandong Economic Management Institute. Hao has gone through a dozen cosmetic surgeries from head to toe (watch her amazing transformation here) and has been dubbed the "man-made beauty" (人造美女) eversince.
One classic moment in this talkshow has Prof Qiu holding up a picture of Korean star Lee Eun-joo (who also had numerous cosmetic surgeries), asking the audience:
Take a look at this woman. If you had the choice to either kill this woman or me, which one would you choose? Of course you'd choose me! I'm the uglier one, and that's alright. But hey you don't have this problem anymore, because this woman has already committed suicide before you could do anything. Is beauty the be-all-and-end-all of a healthy and fulfilling life? [Translation by Shanghaiist]
Later on the motherly Prof Qiu admonishes Hao:
Every woman wants to be a mother. And every mom has to feed her child. And every child has the right to suckle his or her mom. When you have a child later on, are you going to give your child human milk or a cocktail?
Towards the end of the show, Qiu makes a remark that the male host of the show can only see but not touch her, but she can because she's both a woman and a mother, whereupon she stands up, walks toward Hao and feels her up! At first she is somewhat careful (for fear of breaking what's inside?) but then the very sporting Hao starts to guide Qiu for her total hands-on experience! Don't blink towards the end or you'll miss it!
