Video of the Day: Freaky four-legged chicken!

We told you about the "man-eating catfish" (which was actually a whale shark), the man with the world's largest hand, the two-headed freaks in China, the world's tallest woman Yao Defen, the world's tallest man Bao Xishun (who has since been overtaken by a Ukrainian) and the moment he met the world's shortest man He Pingping. Oh, and how could we have forgotten the world's hairiest man Yu Zhenhuan (who is also a rock-and-roll singer!). Now take a look at this Chinese mutant ninja chicken -- it has FOUR legs.

(Enter China freaks/pollution/mutants joke here.)

not that it ever was a hard-hitting source of op-ed pieces, but damn, since Kenneth has been at the controls, Shanghaiist has really slid down the tubes.

formula 1:

1. two sentence intro about another dumb China-related video Kenneth found on youku.

2. link to video.

formula 2:

1. two sentence intro about another story Kenneth found on Shanghai Daily.

2. cut and paste majority, if not all, text.

formula 3:

1. two sentence intro about something someone else on the internet has once found interesting.

2. link to it, and perhaps cut and paste text.

really, dan, i know you've stepped back from the site, but perhaps it's one step too far.

what happened to peijin? or any of the other writers? jeez, it's giving me irrational nostalgia for a sandwich post, even.

Peijin had the best posts.

@#1

Tough day, huh? Does somebody need a hug? I take it that Shanghaiist is like single-A baseball for aspiring journalists, so some of the writers move on when they have bigger fish (or whale sharks) to fry. But it's a volunteer thing so what do you expect? Go buy a magazine if you your not happy. Better still, read the China Daily! :)

I am sure that the prospect of four drumsticks per bird will have the suits at KFC drooling ala Mr. Burns. "excellent..."

yeah these youku movies aren't really news.

so blogs aren't allowed to post videos now? guess i didn't get that memo.

THe only important question: are all four edible?

@ #2

So what happened to Peijin?

@#7 I have no idea.

you commentors are a pissy bunch. lighten up and enjoy the weird china internet video entertainment. i'm certainly glad for the break in the day. if you're going to complain about shanghaiist and kenneth and think you could do better, start your own blog or offer to contribute!
