Bernie is the unflagging emperor of retards. I'd love to comment directly on his POS article every miserable installment.

60 milliliters a shot? What is Bernie spitting up, a Peter North special? 60 mL is more than 2 FL OZ, the size of a bottle of Purell. 7 million hawkers or 1/3 of Shanghai? If you are going to be pseudo-scientific, at least start off right. Bernie is off by at least an order of magnitude, probably two, which makes him the most accurate of all SD writers.

spitting? is that really such a big deal? spitting isn't chinese, it's human. people spit. there are a lot of people in china and there is a lot of spit. i personally enjoy the freedom to spit rather than ingest what seems naturally intended for expulsion. if anything is backward, that is, literally, backward.
it must be tough existing in such a ridged paradigm. i used to drive and old car and at one point the breaks made terrible noises, i couldn't stand it anymore than the people around me. but i couldn't get it fixed right away as i had to work etc. these kinds of things are annoying but tolerance of these little annoyances is what keeps us from goose stepping into the future.

Well, I guess you (chinese people) can go on spitting, but foreigners will go on thinking you are backwards and dirty. Plus, is it necessary to make so much noise when you spit as it draws even more attention.

One thing there should be fines for is chinese with squealing brakes! People should be fined and given a 24 hour notice to get them fixed. I'd say ½ of all bikes have bad breaks that hurt my ears. That should be stopped!

The more foreigners make comments about Chinese spitting, the more they will spit. Of course, the health ramifications are completely irrelevant, spitting is just a part of life with Chinese characteristics.
