On sale this week: Beyoncé tickets!

beyonce.jpgAccording to recent rumors we've heard, tickets are on sale this week for the biggest show of the year (in our humble opinion), The Beyoncé Experience!

Beyoncé (aka Beyoncé Knowles), the 27-year old singer, model, and actress, is currently one of the biggest superstars in America. She began her career with the ginormously successful all-girl group Destiny's Child and has been just as prosperous as a solo artist. She brings her world tour called The Beyoncé Experience to China for the first time. So far, she seems to be doing much better with the censors than her current boyfriend and frequent contributor to her songs, Jay-Z. If you remember, he got banned.

While it's unclear at the moment whether Beyoncé got the go ahead to perform from the powers that be or whether Jay-Z will make an appearance (please let both be true!), should the censors approve her show and the explosive pyrotechnics, her set list should look something like this:

1. Intro
2. Crazy in Love/Crazy
3. Freakum Dress
4. Green Light
5. Baby Boy/Murder He Wrote
6. Beautiful Liar
7. Naughty Girl
8. Me, Myself and I
9. Dangerously in Love 2/He Loves Me
10. Flaws And All
11. Destiny's Child Medley
12. Speechless
13. Ring the Alarm
14. Suga Mama
15. Upgrade U
16. '03 Bonnie & Clyde
17. Check On It
18. Get Me Bodied
19. Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friends/Dreamgirls
20. Listen
21. Irreplaceable
22. Deja Vu

There does seem to be a minor issue with the ticket prices that hopefully should be solved soon. According to piao.com.cn and Emma, the official ticketing agency for the concert, the ticket prices are 300 and 600RMB for the second tier of the Grand Stage, and 1000, 1600, 2000RMB for the the ground level.

In contrast, Shanghai's Cultural Information website lists the following prices: 180, 280, 380, 580, 880, 1280, 1680, 1880. Needless to say, we are confused. Should the prices stated by Emma prove to be true, the tickets would be more expensive than the tickets for Avril Lavinge's show last month.

For those living in the Hong Kong area, word on the street is that Beyoncé will perform in Macau on November 3.

Sweet, Monday night. More proof that Shanghai is still a backwater and does not compare to the likes of Tokyo, Singapore, HK, Manilla that actually get shows that aren't on a school night.

Another week another craptastic pop star ... we've enough aliens in this town already!

School night? The gig is at 8pm, I usually eat dinner later than that. I called Emma and they said probably Tuesday or Wednesday it will be on sale and that they'll call me back. (I forgot to ask the ticket prices though) Beyonce is great live, good band/dance show too. But isn't Nov. 5th a little late for the Halloween motif?
