Live Bar has always been open to different genres of music, and of late, seems to be the venue of choice for Chinese folk, metal and student bands. Friday night they will host one of China’s most popular nu-metal bands, Twisted Machine. Any fan of metal should not miss this show, a great chance to see what Chinese metal has to offer. On the other side of town, up’n’coming indie rockers, Yuguo will play an acoustic set at Yuyintang. While over at the Shanghai Center Theater, Marta Sebestyen will give a performance of Hungarian Folk, which sounds pretty damn cool.
Saturday, for those of you who haven’t heard, is the Rock for Roots and Shoots event at 4Live. Featuring 6 of Shanghai’s finest bands (Loudspeaker, Honeys, Boys Climbing Ropes, Hard Queen, Blue and the Huhu Mama’s) and with all the ticket sales are going to charity… what better excuse do you need?
Sunday, head back to Live bar where South Korean punk band Wild Cat will be performing or go to Bon Bon and catch Twisted Machine’s 2nd Shanghai performance.
