Linkin Park in Shanghai

On a windy and freakin' cold night (yesterday), Linkin Park finally played their long awaited China show... and Shanghaiist has to admit that the turnout was really impressive. Not a complete sellout, but close... and HongKou stadium can hold more than 28,000 people, which is triple the capacity of the Shanghai Grand Theater. Out of all the big named foreign bands we have seen play in China, this by far had the best attendance. A good portion of the crowd was actually Chinese, and as reader MoJo points out, they didn't hold back on those expletives.

I was there. LP was great. Two major complaints though

1. Is it too much to ask the Shanghai authorities to keep the subway line running for big events after the show? We (and many many many other people) had to walk several kilometers to find a place to catch a cab - when honestly we would have gladly taken the subway. You know, public transit?

2. Rock concert. MUST! BE! LOUDER! I want tinitus, you hear me? My ears should be ringing for two days afterwards.
