integration into mainstream chinese society = being harmonized = cultural destruction.

These people probably don't realize how lucky they should feel to be a part of Greater Han and probably have more in common with Burmese people. But that will change.

And all of those girls will be introduced to the defective sons of local/regional bosses, meaning much fewer if any new children for this tribal group.

"and we'd like to share it as our Christmas present to you"

Great Documentary, Thanks! + MERRY CHRISTMAS! Now I'll head to Church and pray these Lahu children have a brighter future to look forward to. . . or at the least, hope that the adults in the school's surroundings can behave with a bit more civility and understanding.

It takes time and patience to become initiated into Chinese culture. Didn't you know that Mr. Video Cameraman? One can't expect snowflakes to fall on dirt and then immediately turn into mud right? It takes time to melt, time for these little dumplings to be able to recite Mao proverbs and exploit those less fortunate within the environment (a two legged deer trying to swim across the Yangtze maybe?). Administrative and physical pressure in itself isn't enough to expedite these neophytes during this process.

From a commentary P.O.V., the kids were not cutting it and these "unteachable" drama kids are a waste of time. Or did i just play into everything like the producers had in mind? So what, they pulled one on me and I felt sorry for the Little Lahu's just like I feel sorry for Oompa Loompas at Charlie's Chocolate Factory. Line up behind the stanchions people. Nonetheless, still a great video although a bit sad the way the kids where mentally squeezed to the pulp.

BTW, it's just fu@#%*ed up what happened to little Flower's situation with the stolen cup and mother leaving. Sounds like her Springtime blossom just got put on hold.
