Well, there's a 德州路 ... although it's probably named after the Dezhou in Shandong province, not the US state. But maybe it's possible it was named when some Texan investors were developing the area.

Actually, there is a Texas Rd in Pudong, just past Yaohua Lu station at the end of Line 8.

Wee Ling happens to be from Singapore. Jurong happens to be a key industrial district in Singapore. I guess she's as surprised as any American would be to find "Alabama Road" or "Texas Road" here. Thank you for solving the mystery anyway.

Much more interesting than the fact that a mis-printed sign was installed in China (?!) is the all the bizarre speculation that this is in any way related to Singapore.

Jurong Lu (句容路) is located not too far from Jiaozhou Lu, beside Suzhou Creek. A glance at a map would've solved the mystery of the mis-printed street sign.

It's possible that the Jurong name came about during a period when Singapore investors were actively involved with construction projects in the area. "Jurong" is a well-known district in Singapore.
