The WFC may not be open to visitors yet, but that has not stopped some
friends of ours crazy
laowai's from making their way past security guards to get to the top of the building. On several occassions they were stopped by the vigilant guards, but they tried and tried again — and, at crazy hours, too, like 5 in the morning! Climbing the 101 flight of stairs took... erm... forever... but they were soon rewarded for it. See for yourself some of the incredible views they caught for themselves. How often does one get to look DOWN on the Jinmao? If we hadn't known better, we would've thought some of those photographs were taken by an aerial photographer from a helicopter!
Apparently our friends were so addicted to the experience they've done it a few times since. It also looks like a mini-trend has caught on, as several other groups have been inspired to organise their own expeditions up the WFC.
