I seriously can't wait for more of these budget airlines to come to Shanghai, but that probably won't happen anytime soon :(

Yeah, but European budget airlines make you fly to crap out of the way airports, so it's not THAT good a comparison. My favorite "I flew for so cheap, so nyah nyah nyah" story is flying from SFO to LAX during the United Express/Southwest fare wars for $17 US (+$10 tax)

Kenneth, I am with you on the Air Asia thing. I just booked tickets to from HZ to KL for 2400 RMB return (from Feb 5-12). This may not seem that cheap, but for this time of year, I was DELIGHTED. WOOOOOHOOOO, here is to escaping SH for Chinese New Year!!!

Ryan Air (Irish budget airline) make you pay to check a bag in- that's lame. I flew to Barcelona from the UK once for 12 GBP, about 200RMB- but 1000 is still cheap to KL. Good info.

@shopgirl: 400 what? Euros? Yuan? Can you really go from Sweden to Spain for the equivalent of 55$? If so, that's awesome. Going from Hangzhou to Kuala Lumpor though is probably like going from Stockholm to Baghdad. @Kenneth: But it should be free.

From Hangzhou to Kuala Lampur for over 1000 is not that cheap. In Europe I pay 400 including taxes to Italy, England, France, Spain, Hungary, etc.
