Happy Super Bowl ... Monday, everyone. We hope you are well into your third beer and/or breakfast burrito when reading this.

We have a confession to make. We haven't seen a Super Bowl commercial for several years. Now for readers not familiar with American football, that may sound like a good thing. But, believe it or not, the big-budget advertisements that make their debuts during the big game are one of the telecast's major draws (and often they are more interesting than the game itself). In China, however, we get the international feed for the game, which means two things: Second-rate announcers breaking out the British-American dictionary and trying to "teach" the sport to the non-American audience ("And now the extra point attempt, which is very similar to a penalty kick in soccer ..." or "Jerome Bettis grew up just a few kilometers from the stadium ..."¹), and the same tired commercials over and over again (it's been the Allen Iverson "I'm not a gangster" Reebok spot for the past couple years).²

Looks like things could be a little different this year, however — fans of crass creative commercialism might be in luck! Last week we received an email from video sharing website Spike.com:

Looking for Super Bowl commercials? Look no further.

... Spike.com will have every Super Bowl commercial legally, embeddable, with no pre-roll, and immediately as they air during Sunday's game.

They've also got the Top 25 Super Bowl Commercials of All-Time and other Super Bowl Classics. They even have a page of banned Super Bowl ads. Plenty to keep you occupied during the hour long halftime show or after the game turns into a blowout (which could very well be before halftime).
