I've been going to the Beverly Hills Lawry's since I was 2 and the newest addition to the Lawry's family does not disappoint. I was a bit puzzled as to why the managers were chatting up all the lao wais around us and negleted our table. Regardless, the atmosphere, prime rib, and service stay true to the original.

Lawrys is excellent. There's one in Chicago that pretty much competes for one of the top steak/prime rib contenders in Chicago - which is saying a lot.

When I go back to Shanghai and get homesick I will go here.

I'm suprised the Diamond Jim Brady cut is not going for 561 RMB since it's such a superb cut.

When I was there, the prime rib was top notch. The service was still teething - but unlike any other places in Shanghai were the service is a problem - once management knew there was an issue, they IMMEDIATELY solved it and put things right. Which was very much appreciated.

THey do have some slight training to do with explaining how the cart works vs. ordering off the menu - I've been to Lawry's in Beverly Hills, and even I was confused by the waiter's explanation. Thankfully, a more senior waitress took over and bi-lingually explained it.
