AMD's latest processor: Shanghai

In tribute to our city's place at the cutting edge of technology, AMD have decided to name their latest processor "Shanghai".

Recent reports suggest that the tiny 45-nanometer quad-core microprocessor "Shanghai" will use less power than its competitors whilst achieving similar speeds, and could be out as soon as the third quarter of 2008.

"Shanghai" is, of course, developed in India.

This is ME touching the sundail at Century park, and I am an AMD employee in Shanghai.

I guess Shanghaiist found this picture on my husband's Flickr site and selected it randomly and quite appropriately for this story ;-)

That's outrageous. I think China should "retaliate" by developing an aircraft and calling it "Rogan Josh".
